FAQ

Selenium seed meters can be used with Cotton, Peanut, Canola, Beans, Jalo Beans, Corn, Sweet Corn, Soybean, and Sorghum.

In case of doubles and skips during planting, check if the vacuum pressure is properly adjusted and if the seed is evenly treated with graphite, always analyzing the vacuum seal condition, which should not be worn for proper operation of the meter. Another point to check is the air inlets, which must be clear to allow free airflow.
If you have further questions, contact one of our dealers.

The quality of the seed tube, which should not be dented or broken, and the seed sensor, which should not interfere with the free fall of the seed and should not protrude beyond the inner wall of the seed tube. Another factor is the planting line pressure, which, if poorly adjusted, can cause spacing failures.

If the plant population in the field does not match the desired one, the following actions may be taken:

a) If the meter is powered by a hydraulic or electric motor, check if the number of holes in the disk is correctly configured in the terminal that controls the motors. Also, verify if the population shown on the display is correct.

b) If the meter is mechanically driven by the planter’s drive wheel, check in the seed rate chart if the correct gears are being used in the gearbox that drives the seed meters.

The system is powered by a hydraulic alternator.

Selenium Electric provides row-by-row shutoff and variable rate planting, further preventing overlaps and seed waste.

Yes, as long as the tractor is compatible and the planter is equipped with a Dickey John or Agrosystem sensor.
